Turning Time

Turning Time: Between Coast & Sky is a series of wayfinding markers for multiple trails along the California coast for the Santa Barbara County Trails Council / National Park Service. The markers respond to the various indigenous and non-indigenous peoples who have made these trails and the patterns they left behind in the landscape. Modeled on a Buddhist prayer wheel, an interactive element allows hikers to spin and rearrange the patterns as they pass by. Completed community engagement phase before COVID-19 cancelled project.

One of three teams selected for final design phase. Lead designer for concept and detailing (30%) working with Tracy Corado and Elizabeth Marley. Completed October 2019.
