Experience Prompt Cards

Photo: Hector Valdivia

Based on the 12 chapters and related “Designer’s Toolbox” visualizations in The Exhibition and Experience Design Handbook, these prompt cards can be used to generate exhibition and experience design concepts in the classroom, studio, or office. Hand them out to a group as a conversation starter, ask them to explore each theme, and respond with their own ideas.

I’ve been using them to measure a variety of experience-based encounters, including dining, event, and online experiences with a great deal of success. See if you can identify all 12 of the attributes next time you participate in people-driven experiences.

To order the prompt cards please email xdhandbook@gmail.com. The cards are available at no charge as long as you state who you are, a mailing address, and how you intend to use them for educational purposes.
