Celebrating 50 Years of Village Homes

POSTER: The confluence of social and ecological movements of the 1960s and 70s were successfully harnessed by a small group of idealistic students at UC Davis, dogged developers, and City of Davis officials willing to challenge rules. The original stakeholders sought to build a neighborhood that decreased environmental impact and increased social harmony. This vision today seems bold and almost unbuildable, yet Village Homes is a sought-after neighborhood and a model for urban planning.

The poster acknowledges the significance of Village Homes and its relationship to the City of Davis. The imagery on the poster condenses 50 years of Village Homes happenings, events, people, activities, and unique Davis qualities into a fun and interactive viewing experience.
